Mike Healy – Owner/General Manager
Mike Healy comes from the other really cold state of South Dakota. Mike came to Skagway in 2003 when he and a few friends opened up Glacial Smoothies & Espresso, which has become a local favorite café alongside their newest venture of The Black Bean restaurant. Mike has been living year round in Skagway since 2005 where he has done a wide variety of jobs including tour guiding and carpentry work. As General Manager, maintenance man, and owner Mike tries to provide an atmosphere where his employees feel appreciated and his patrons feel welcomed. Mike believes that he and his team have put a great deal of time and effort into making quality a top priority when it comes to food and beer. Mike’s aspirations include continuing to make the Skagway Brewing Co. a year round community-oriented business.
Christophe “Duppy” Ticarro - Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Director.
Ticarro is one of many “Midwest Refugees” who have found a beautiful life in Alaska and has lived in Skagway for the last 12 years. Originally from Minnesota, Ticarro has worked in the Food, Beverage, and Hospitality industry for over 20 years from Minnesota, Montana, NYC, San Francisco, to Seattle. With the diverse culinary background of his father, a French trained Chef with a degree in Economics, his Vietnamese mother, and his brother, a James Beard House Featured Chef from Minnesota, Ticarro is a classically trained chef. After an invitation as the Featured Chef to the prestigious James Beard House, NYC in 2006, Chef Ticarro was invited back to cook alongside other regional chefs at another dinner in May 2008 representing his newest endeavor as the Food and Beverage Director of the infamous Skagway Brewing Company. Now you can find him overseeing daily operations of a well-trained, loyal and professional staff of the Skagway Brewing Co. and sister restaurants The Black Bean and Glacial Smoothies and Espresso.
Claire Regnier - Front of the House Manager
Our front-of-house manager, Claire Regnier, was born and raised in Wisconsin and has been involved in the restaurant industry since she was 17. With over 11 years of serving, bartending and management experience in a variety of dining establishments from Cajun/Creole food, Thai cuisine, English and American pub fare to running a swanky cocktail/martini lounge Claire has found her niche again in Skagway. Claire is a qualified restaurant manager holding a bachelors degree in Business Administrations from Viterbo College in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Treating it like her own, the Skagway Brewing Co. has become her second home. Claire has been with us since we opened our doors July 4, 2007 and looks forward to remaining an integral part of the growth, success and good times had by all (employees and patrons alike!) here at the Skagway Brewing Co.
Trevor Clifford - Brewer
Trevor’s brewing history dates back to December of 1997 when Santa left a beer kit beneath the tree. Lead not only to the first batch of beer, but also the discovery of an affinity for fermentation. He quickly became passionate about home brewing and for the next 10 years he honed his skills. Wherever he was, he brewed. Be it at his home state of Minnesota, his wife’s home state of Alaska, or what they considered the compromise, Oregon. In 2007 he finally entered his first homebrew competition in Eugene and garnered 1st and 2nd place ribbons. This was also the year he was offered the chance to turn his hobby into a profession. With very little debate, he and his wife Courtenay enthusiastically returned to Alaska where he has been involved with designs of the brewery from the ground up. With his passion stronger than ever, he continues to revel in the process and happily brews ales for the Skagway locals and visitors alike.
He invites you to come on in and have a pint.
